2018's theme of the Linnan Juhlat celebrations (Finnish Independence Day Ball) is sustainable development. Often the focus is on reducing emissions. Susanna Koski also wanted to highlight the other side: the importance of harvesting as a carbon-binding element. Finland should be a pioneer in climate-sensitive agriculture and food intake. So agriculture and forestry should be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
The costume reflects the grain. The pattern of lace material resembles grain blooms. Also when walking, the costumes of the suit are shimmering like ripe cereals. The main decoration is made of genuine wheat starch.
The costume is already the third collaboration project between Susanna and Marita Huurinainen. It has been designed by design, like all Huurinainen's costumes.
Happy Independence Day!
